Even before the flowers are allocated to a specific delivery they may be discarded due to quality shortcomings. If the stem to the flower is of inadequate growth it is not good enough for the harvest.
Upon harvest the crop is quality tested by human inspection, and packaged for transport to export. At every major point in its journey towards retail purchase, the product is further tested and monitored for freshness. This ensures that even before the crop is on its way, the cargo is already of a very high quality. Additional spot checks are carried out on products before final shipment and delivery to the retailer.
Each crop goes through separate checks from harvest to retail display, and never leaves the controlled climatic atmosphere which we call The Cool Chain. The strict adherence to quality in harvest and transportation ensures a minimal amount of waste in the process.
