Bigot

Bigot was started in 2002. It has developed steadily over the last 7 years as an exorter to premium markets in Europe. Bigot is located in Naivasha, 80 km drive from the capital city Nairobi and about 18 km away from Lake Naivasha at 1,887 metres above sea level.

Production
40 ha with 5.5 ha currently under construction with the replacement of wooden houses with metallic structures.

From 300 employees in 2004 to 1000 employees iwth a ratio of 45:55 men to women.
Most employees live in their homes in the neighbourhood.
Staff kitchen in place.

Health Care
Basic treatment provided free of charge at the clinic fully under a qualified doctor.
Farm encourages and offers transport to the closest hospital for HIV/AIDS testing and counselling.
Training on health care, family planning and parental care undertaken at the farm.

Education
Donation and Provision of desks, water tanks and toilets to neighbouring and community schools.
