Fairtrade

Bloom is certified by the Fairtrade Labelling Organisation (FLO) since 2005. The Fairtrade mark certifies that as a producer and a trader we live up to the Fairtrade standard.

Bloom subscribes to goals represented by the Fairtrade organisation such as equal treatment of the sexes, better quality of life for minorities, opposition to child labour, and use of sustainable environmental practices.

Growers benefit from Fairtrade arrangements by prices that are certain to cover the costs of sustainable production, and advantages such as an advance credit, longer term trade relationships, and decent working conditions for hired labour.

Fairtrade offers consumers a powerful way to reduce poverty through their every day shopping. When a product carries the Fairtrade Mark it means the producers and traders have met Fairtrade standards. The consumer is certain that the purchase is part of a community that aims to address the imbalance of power in trading relationships, unstable markets and injustices of conventional trade.
